Mixed Media

Encounter, Mixed Media
I enjoy creating three dimensional sculptures which leap off surfaces. In High Flying, I created a kite out of Japanese paper, braided reclaimed copper wire for the string and used chalk pastels to draw an idyllic beach scene.
I use a wide variety of media for my work: carved plaster, cast ciment fondue, copper wire, encaustic, paper mache. Some of my work is free-standing and some attached to wood panels which I paint. I don't want any limits on my work. If a movement, a gesture or an idea calls to me, I want to make it however I want. I want the freedom to create.
